Halloween Inspiration

Admittedly, I'm a little late in the game, but here are some wonderful Halloween-inspired fashions for you to ogle at :)

Seriously, I Die.

I love candy.
Seriously.
Actually, I love all things sweet. It's like drugs. If I see, smell, or hear candy, I get all Pavlovian; the ears perk up, my senses become extremely acute, and I'm scanning the area for potential saccharine encounters. It's like I have  Spidey senses, but for sweets. And yes, I potentially have an addiction... whatever.

Soooo when my bestie sent me this A-mazing picture of ice cream shoes, I nearly smacked my face on the monitor. I sooooo want these shoes, but I seriously think I'd end up with concrete permanently embedded into my forehead from trying to get at my feet.

Anyways, after my happy ass calmed down, I was completely inspired to do a little online hunting for some more wacky shoe creations. Upon my research, I found some inspiring stuff...and some shit that's just plain weird. Enjoy!

A-Mazing DIY!!!!

Flipping through my stack of fashion mags, I stumbled upon these magnificent stockings by Door.Ri and rad socks by Miu Miu :

Gorgeous as they are, these here socks are priced in the $400+ range.
You kidding me? For serious? Pffft! I don't THINK so...
And so the happy DIYster that I am decided to do some research. And OF COURSE, I found a way to make these fabulous socks (and then some).

What you’ll need: Patterned lace tights (or leggings), very thin needle, thread, scissors, and a set of beads varying from sizes to colors to shapes.
I chose two neutral colors (white and cream/gold), one complimentary (blue), one pot of sequin for the sparkle and a satin pearl pot for texture.

Wearing the tights will be the easiest way to apply the beads.

Find a patch on the lace where the texture is heavier (on the pattern – the weave is stronger there and should hold the beads better), and slide needle through where you want to start. (Please excuse my chipped nails)

Pull the thread out to the necessary length needed for that section (usually 25-30cm) and make a firm double knot.

Thread beads in and sew into the tights. Usually 4-5 beads per time is good for more control with the shape.

Keep varying between beads and sequins and other decorations – once an area is done, finish with a double knot. Snap off thread to start on new section.

Repeat. When doing the other leg, see how they balance out overall on both legs.

Et Voilà !!  You have some stunning leg candy and all the world will be in awe!
